Arkel is object storage pooled together by the community. It aims to serve as a reliable Object store alternative to Cloud Corporations.

No reliance on Big Tech

Arkel is designed around decentralized ideas. The pool of storage nodes is contributed by the community as storage servers and spare hardware.

Security comes first. Your data is encrypted on your machine before it leaves with XChaCha20-Poly1305, so storage nodes are zero-knowledge.

Objects are split with Reed–Solomon erasure coding and spread across independent nodes, to protect against node loss to a high degree.

We want to empower operators to earn for their contribution while providing Arkel users a fair price on a reliable service for object storage needs.

Currently in alpha and under very active development. You can start using and testing the network quick start.
